Blood Prophecy (Drake Chronicles #6)

Blood Prophecy (Drake Chronicles, #6)Blood Prophecy Summary:
In the thrilling conclusion of the Drake Chronicles, love and loyalties will be tested ... and proven once and for all.

Solange Drake has been officially crowned Queen of the Vampires, fulfilling the centuries old prophecy that foretold the rise to power of a daughter born to an ancient vampire line. Except Solange's thoughts and actions are no longer her own—she's been slowly being possessed by the spirit of Viola, the first daughter born into the Drake line, since her blood change. And instead of uniting the vampire tribes under the rule of an ancient daughter as the prophecy predicted, Viola would rather destroy them all and enslave humans in a personal vendetta for the devastation both wrought to her life centuries ago. Can Solange break her hold in time to save everyone she loves from a vampire civil war, hunter attack, and each other? Not everyone will survive the prophecy . . . perhaps not even her.

Blood Prophecy Review:
What an absolutely amazing way to end a series that was already amazing. If only the series could have lasted longer. Awfully sad the series is over now but the conclusion was incredibly satisfactory. This book was much longer than the other books but it was incredibly worth it to sit there for hours and read over this EPIC conclusion. Every little piece fell in the larger puzzle and did end up being solved. No this was not a completely happy ending, and I'm thankful for that because it wouldn't have done the series justice if there were no consequences of this battle. All the characters were in this somehow. Facing off in the real battle or fighting with magic off on the sidelines. No one was left without a few scars.

With the end of the battle hidden story lines are revealed and WOW they BLOW. YOUR. MIND!

You finally realize who is the mastermind behind the whole war. No it wasn't the Helios-Ra, rogue vampires or any group of people. It was one person who has been orchestrating this since the prophecy was told. They hid in plain site and waited till the end to come. And no it wasn't a warm welcome for them. Solange gets the ending that she deserves as well as Viola. You also get a back story on Viola which was a much needed eye opener. You realize that you were wrong in your assumptions that evil is black and white. That people that should have had your back are suddenly your enemies. It was amazing how everything was turned upside down yet everything finished all wrapped up with a bow on top.

There were two main POVs in the novel, but there were many other POVs from Isabeau, Hunter, Christabel and others. You saw the different parts of the battle as they were separate and again when they converged. You get to see a vulnerable side to the Drake family especially characters such as Helena and Liam. Characters such as Constatine show their true colours and it's not something pretty. You see Helena kick butt and her whole family fighting together.

The Epilogue was the best chapter in the world! I loved how happy it was and that the families could still smile after what happened. And there is even a new love story that happens which I did not expect. Hoping for a short story there!! I'm just really really sad it's over.

I won't say much else because it might lead to spoilers. Except, this book gave me so much heartbreak and happiness. I did end up tearing up because this novel was so bittersweet. It was the last book in one of the best series I have ever read but it was a fitting conclusion that would shouldn't be continued (novellas not withstanding). This book would be 10 stars if that was possible. And I can`t believe this series is over. I feel sad just writing this review. I keep my fingers crossed for more novellas and more awesome books by Alyxandra!!

Blood Moon (Drake Chronicles #5)

Blood Moon (Drake Chronicles, #5)Blood Moon Summary:
When the vampire tribes convene for the rare Blood Moon ceremonies, Solange Drake is plunged into a battle with her feral nature. The Drake brothers have been raised knowing that they had to protect their younger sister at all cost. But forbidden magic and a mysterious stranger have put them all in terrible danger.

Nicholas is going to have to make a difficult choice: between his girlfriend, Lucy, and his little sister, Solange- blood, or love?

Blood Moon Review:
God!! That was an absolutely amazing novel! It was not the conclusion to the series but Harvey wrote it as if it was such. Blood Moon was much darker than any of her other novels. It doesn't focus on any single species or clan, focusing just on Solange's life now that she is possessed. This makes the book so much more darker because there isn't as much humor or romance either. It just focuses on the struggles and ends on a very heartbreaking cliff hanger that made everyone dread the year long wait for the next book to come out. Blood moon is much more dire as the stakes are raised and every chapter is more heart pounding than the last.

The POVs are Lucy, Nicholas and Solange. We get the Drake Chronicles' favorite couple but unfortunately not everything is happy in their world. We realize that their are people that have been hiding in the shadows, that have been pulling the strings from the very beginnings. This ties in with Solange's story. Now I know most people would have probably hated her, but you also do have to understand her side of the view. She was possessed and the influences of new friends and human blood proved to strong for her. Luckily, she managed to hold onto her strength on the inside and is trying to fight for her freedom, so she hasn't fallen completely in my eyes. We all are hoping she redeems herself in the next and last installment.

You use each Drake brother's love stories come in handy now. The Drake family has powerful allies that can help to heal Solange and to fight off the impending war because of Solange's actions. And we get some more inner details within the Drake family. The stress of what is really happening and how they are dealing with it. Moreover, you see the prophecy come into play! The end of Helena's rule. And you get to see the overlapping story lines of several other characters, meshing together for the end of the series.

The ending was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! And I'm not kidding about that. It left you a a huge cliffhanger and the emotions that the characters felt reflected onto you. You felt their loss, determination and anxiety of their future. Now we just have to buckle in for the Blood Prophecy which will be the epic conclusion that Alyxandra has been working for.
